The Education & Cognitive Science Lab: Language, Literacy, and Cognitive Development

The newly founded Education & Cognitive Science Lab (ECS Lab: Principal Investigator, Lisa Hsin) is seeking undergraduates to support a variety of research activities investigating, broadly, linguistic and social-cognitive development in children ages 3 to 14. U.S. Classroom Libraries Database Project

The U.S. Classroom Libraries Database Project is a multi-state project, examining books that area available in elementary classroom libraries. A group of researchers from five states have developed a database of 58 classrooms and have documented the books found in those classrooms. Currently, the project team is working to clean and organize the database. Once the database is cleaned, in the Fall 2017, the team will be working on many projects related to children’s literature and analyzing children’s books.
