Mobile Youth and Poverty Study

In this research opportunity, students will work with the Data Archivist for the Mobile Youth and Poverty Study and/or other identified faculty, based on the students' interests to create research publications, both manuscripts and conference proposals that explore risk and protective factors for primarily adolescents who grow up in impoverished communities. This opportunity lends itself more toward quantitative methods, but qualitative opportunities may be explored. In this research opportunity, students will work with secondary data sources. Slavery at The University of Alabama

I'm interested in working with students who are interested in studying the history of slavery at UA. Piecing together this story will involve reading archival records, and learning more about the early workings of the university.
