Description

This position will help examine the mediated-online and mobile dating platforms and its impact on relationships initiation, maintenance, and dissolution. Please see two recent Psychology Today articles highlighting m y recent scholarship: Anatomy of Ghosting (https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/head-games/201903/the-anatomy-ghosting) and Is Tinder Really a Hookup App? (https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/close-encounters/201706/is-tinder-really-hookup-app). My studies commonly examines the relevance of technological affordances on relationship initiation and the differentiation between those who embrace the legacy of traditional face-to-face versus those who have welcomed the emergence of the changing mediated dating landscape. Currently, I am working on numerous projects that address initiation (or starting) and dissolution (breakups) in relationships and examine both technological, communicative, and relational aspects. However, I also have expertise in educational, psychological, technological, and health; therefore, I am open to having you join projects or generating a new collaboration together. I have many projects going on at once and happy to share how you can become involved in the opportunities and projects. My research projects provide different opportunities to help with conceptualization, work on data collection, assist in analyzing and coding processes, and generate write-ups. This positions will allow you to see how research is conducted and open your eyes up to the possibilities of social science research - I have worked with many students from a variety of fields.
