Description

I am looking for motivated, capable emerging scholars to help on a new federally funded study on reading comprehension in children with Down syndrome. Minimum 2-semester commitment, but I am especially looking for students who can stay even longer in the lab. 6-10 hour/week expected. Activities may include preparing materials, entering data, assisting testers, and testing, depending on the student. Students will have the opportunity to present at the undergraduate research conference on campus (URCA).

Special Directions

Go to http://connerslab.as.ua.edu/apply/ to complete an application. Make sure to indicate whether you are in the emerging scholars program. Or email Dr. Conners at fconners@ua.edu.

Special Skills

Experience with school-age children with Down syndrome or other intellectual disability is a special plus, but not a deal-breaker. More important is open-mindedness, work ethic, attention to detail, good communication skills, and desire to learn!
