Description

It is likely that you know someone that was cheated on by a romantic partner. What did you say to this person to help them cope with being cheated on. In this project we are looking to understand the role of people in one's social network to help cope and repair (or not) a romantic relationship after experiencing infidelity. It is likely that friends and family members of a person who has been cheated on will play a role in how that person responds to their cheating partner. However, there is little theoretical and empirical understanding about communicative processes surrounding these experiences. This project presents an opportunity to move a research idea from start to finish. The student will learn how to develop a research proposal, design a survey, collect data, analyze results, and write a report. The student will be advised throughout the project, but will be asked to take the lead in carrying out much of the research project.
