Community Music School Registration
READ BEFORE YOU ENROLL:
All activities occur in-person at the Moody Music Building unless your selected teacher specifies otherwise. In very few cases, teachers will opt for a hybrid of in-person/distance, or, entirely via distance method. Lessons will occur via Zoom if distance. Do not enroll until you have communicated directly with your selected teacher and have a confirmed the method of your lesson (distance OR in-person), the day/time of your lesson, and the length of your lesson for the current semester. If you do not have a teacher, email email@example.com for a fee quote and available teacher listing. Connection issues? Check list: Use a land-connected device to enroll. Some smart phones and tablets have software that does not allow connection to the payment site. Use FireFox or Google Chrome (Safari may have issues). If this does not fix the connectivity, email firstname.lastname@example.org To complete enrollment you must open and review three mandated documents (CMS Policy & UA Liability Release & UA Release for Online Programs), select the confirm button to accept/agree. A payment must be received in order to be enrolled. You must be enrolled in order to attend.
About the CMS Program:
The Community Music School (CMS) is a non-degree granting outreach program for the School of Music which serves interested students of all ages and levels of ability. An accredited member of the National Guild for Community Arts Education, the 60-member CMS faculty is comprised of School of Music faculty, selected graduate and undergraduate students, and professionals from the community. All CMS teachers have been background checked and completed mandated UA training. Over 600 students receive private and group instruction on wind, brass, string, piano, harp, organ, guitar, drums, voice, and composition/theory. The CMS also features a thriving Early Music Enrichment program for ages birth–6 years. Ensembles and group classes include Campus Orchestra, Adult Strings, and various chamber ensembles. Lessons, classes and ensembles are open for enrollment year-round, with summer options also including a strings camp in June (Middle & High School), and a beginning level children’s musical (ages 6-12Y) in July.
